MDHS must receive referrals from health and social care professionals. MDHS provide a variety of services to help people in their own homes who, because of age, sickness or disability, cannot easily make such arrangements for themselves. This enables people to feel less isolated and lonely, without taking away their independence. All helpers, including shopping drivers, act as a monitoring service and will report back any concerns they have about the clients they visit A quality control programme is in place and clients may be randomly contacted throughout the year. An annual questionnaire is sent to the clients to assess satisfaction.
