Bathing Service

MDHS must receive referrals from health and social care professionals.

Help with bathing or a strip-wash is available for clients who feel unable to do this safely on their own.  Self-employed helpers are experienced and qualified.  All helpers have to produce an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check and two professional references to prove suitability by MDHS. Helpers are required to have appropriate Public Liability insurance cover.

A charge for this service is paid directly to the helper.

A quality control programme is in place and clients may be randomly contacted throughout the year.  An annual questionnaire is sent to the clients to assess satisfaction.

Key Benefits

  • Health and hygiene are important, and this service enables clients to have a sense of wellbeing.

  • The feeling of security that the helper will monitor any changes in the clients wellbeing and report back to MDHS.

  • An extra contact in the case of an emergency.

  • To feel confident that the service is being provided in their own homes by a qualified helper.
