MDHS & Waitrose Shopping Service
MDHS must receive referrals
from health and social care professionals.
MDHS Household Services
are working with Waitrose of Esher, to provide a shopping
service throughout the borough of Elmbridge, Surrey.
The service is organised by
MDHS shopping co-ordinator and the staff of
Waitrose, Esher.
MDHS provide self-employed drivers to collect the shopping from
Waitrose and deliver it to the clients home.
A delivery charge is payable directly to the driver.
A quality control programme is in place and clients may be randomly contacted
throughout the year. An annual questionnaire is sent to the clients to assess
satisfaction.
If you wish to join the scheme or have any queries, please contact MDHS.
Key Benefits
-
Helps clients
who are unable to shop for themselves.
-
Provides
clients with regular access to fresh fruit and vegetables.
Allows
clients to select the food they require to meet their dietary needs and
personal preferences.
The drivers
can help to put shopping away, and this enables them to check if food is out
of date, at the same time checking the ice conditions of the fridge/freezer.
The driver
can monitor the clients wellbeing and report any concerns to MDHS.

MDHS and Waitrose hope that
this shopping scheme will help to
support people who wish to
remain in their own homes.
